Guiness Irish Toast Contest


in cooperation with RED STAR® Yeast

Entries will receive a free measuring spoon, courtesy of RED STAR® Yeast.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category.

All entries must be submitted on paper plates or plain cardboard (breads must be pre-cut into serving-sized pieces by the baker), and delivered, in person, to the Irishfest Baking Contest Tent (Southside Fest Grounds, 1 Oktoberfest Strasse, La Crosse) by 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010. Judging will begin promptly at 11:30 AM.

An Irishfest admission ticket is required to enter the baking contest/enter the Irishfest grounds.

Contest Rules
  • Entries will be confined to amateur bakers.
  • All entry forms must be accompanied by a complete recipe on a 3 x 5 card.
  • An exhibitor will be permitted to present only one entry in any one category.
  • Categories will be limited to 20 entries.
  • No prepared mixes may be used.
  • All persons making entries agree to accept the judges and agree to abide by their decisions.
 
  • Contestants will provide 6 servings of each entry; in the case of breads, 6 pieces must be cut by the contestant prior to arriving at the Irishfest Baking Contest.
 
  • Contestants must present entries in person at Irishfest on Saturday, August 14, 2010.
